Mable Elizabeth Manwaring, 96, died July 6, 2017 at home in the presence of family. Although her body succumbed to the frailty of age, she remained steadfast in both mind and spirit to the very end. Mable was born March 8, 1921 in Nanticoke, NY. She was predeceased by her parents Florence and William Manwaring, her older sister Mildred who died in infancy, her older brother George and his wife Esther, her younger brother Bill and his first wife Elizabeth, her niece Shirley, and her grand nephew Daniel. She graduated from Whitney Point High School in 1937 and from Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, NY in 1941. For many years, she worked as a missionary with the Bible Club Movement. She moved back to Nanticoke, NY to care for her ailing mother. For twenty years until retirement she worked as an aid at the State Hospital in Binghamton, NY while continuing to hold community Bible clubs in Whitney Point, Glen Aubrey, Conklin, and Nanticoke. She is survived by her sister-in-law Aldean Manwaring in South Carolina, 14 nieces and nephews, 58 grand nieces and nephews, and 117 great grand nieces/nephews. At her request, a simple family burial took place at the Nanticoke cemetery on July 7, 2017 where she was laid to rest beside her parents.
