I remember when Mike and I were kids in Hobe Sound and we lived on the same street. I was probably around 12 and he was a year or so younger. My memory is not clear on how long they lived there, but I do remember being so disappointed when they all moved to NY. I remember riding bikes with Mike and Danny was usually tagging along. We hung out at the basketball courts, and just had a good time together. I had not seen him since he moved but kept up with him and Danny through Mary Ellen's family, and would occasionally get word on him and his family and how he was doing. When Joyce Olsen was still working at Family Private Care in Hobe Sound, I stopped by her office at different times to say "Hi". She always had a lot of family pictures on her desk and she would update me on Mike and Danny and their families. My heart hurts for Doug and Nancy and Danny and Johnny and each member of his family. Love and prayers to all of you. I can't imagine the hole his loss will leave in so many hearts.

Our hearts are saddened at the tragic passing of our dear nephew. Michael was the first grandchild in our family and he was loved beyond words by all of us. He was the cutest, chubby, brown eyes little guy to be sure. He was loving and caring even as a child. As he grew up he was always special to his grandparents because he always paid attention to them in their later years. I know he is with them in heaven now and in the safe arms of our Savior. You will be forever missed, Michael.

This brought back so many memories from growing up together - From Binghamton Camp as kids; climbing on the water tank, apple fights up at the old orphanage, picking on the camp guards, and the time we tied fishing line to the camp bell so we could decide when the dinner bell was going to ring. Then there were the Sunday afternoons after church where we would sneak out with our BB guns and harass the local bird and squirrel population (and the neighbors cows which your Dad didn't appreciate). Then we got into dirt bikes and 3 wheelers riding through the landfill (no wonder there is a fence around that now!). I remember the time we were riding on your 3 wheeler and wrecked...you broke your collar bone and I broke my arm....I had the bright idea to ride one handed back to the farm to get the tractor to get you out...of course I wrecked again on the way back and had to walk the rest of the way. Then we got cars, I never understood your love for VW Beetles but I will say you had enough lights on yours that it looked like a truck coming down the road at night! This lead to our discovery of Skate Estate in Vestal....where we spent many a Friday and Saturday night trying to impress the young ladies with our skating skills. Eventually we found some desperate ones that would go out with us which led to double dates and the discovery that if you parked in the farmers field to "look at the stars" with the radio on and the engine off you had to come up with a really good excuse why your battery died out in the middle of a field at night! There are a lot more stories I could share (and probably shouldn't) about our antics growing up.....I'll always remember those days together with a smile and thank the Lord we got through some of them..... rest in peace my friend.
