Welcome to the memorial page for

Williamay M Zeiter

December 10, 2013

Williamay (Willi) Moscrip Zeiter of Whitney Point, NY was born on Christmas Eve, 1925. She went to be with the Lord and her mother Myrtle Clark, her father, Dr. Ransom Moscrip, and her brothers, Ransom and Ivan (Bud) on December 11, 2013. Williamay graduated from Whitney Point Central School and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. She was happily married for 66 years to her knight in shining armor, William Zeiter. She was the mother of Kip (Nancy) and Kim (David), grandmother to Adam (Caroline), Amanda (Scott), Matthew, Andrew, and Ashley (Dan), great-grandmother of Sarina, Jacob, and Archer. She was a very good friend of Fairy Godperson, Fred. Williamay was the Foster Friends “Dreamer-in-Residence” for 47 years beginning with two busloads of ladies she took to NYC in 1965 and eventually escorting trips to many parts of the world. She wrote the Disa + Data column for the Pennysaver for 50 years recalling many of these adventures. These columns became the basis for her book: Disa + Data Happy Talk. In addition to travel and writing, Williamay also taught dance, and was the owner of Williamay’s Happy House of Hats. She was a lifelong member of the Whitney Point United Methodist Church. Williamay was always looking for ways to provide for children around the world and through “Foster Friends Plan” was able to enrich the lives of those she never met. All this in addition to keeping her knight in shining armor one very happy man for all of those years! Williamay’s family would like to thank Jenny and Betty from UHS Home Care for their kind, loving care and encouragement. To those friends she travelled with, please know you are loved. Should you be reading this on a snowy day, think of Williamay and “The Cossack Song”. Funeral arrangements will be private and at the family’s discretion. A special day of remembrance will be held in the spring for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a children’s charity of your choice.
