Vera L. Ashley

Vera L. Ashley, 85, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband, John; son, Jeffrey; grandson, Benjamin; great-grandson, Preston; parents, Leroy and Jesse Ticknor; in-laws, Lillian and Milo Ashley; brothers, Harry, Leroy Jr., Oscar, Adelbert; sisters, Ruth and Peggy; and son-in-law, James Hunter. She is survived her children, Sharon Hunter, Dennis Ashley, Benjamin and Robin Ashley; grandchildren, Erin and Rick Hoppes, Celeste, Katie, Dennis Jr., Wyatt, Makayla,Ryan ; sister, Martha Brightson; sisters-in-law, Patricia, Phyllis and Winifred; several nieces and nephews. Vera absolutely loved all babies and children. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 30 from 2-4 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th St., Whitney Point, NY 13862. Funeral services will be private.
