Thomas E. Schultz (77) of Whitney Point died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, November 13, 2014.  He was born on August 22, 1937 in Johnson City: the son of the late Joseph (1988) and Rose Matuzak Schultz (1975) one brother, Joseph F. Schultz (1999).  Tom’s ancestors were born in Germany and came to settle in the U.S. in the late 1800’s.  He was a 1955 Whitney Point Central School graduate and a lifetime resident to the village.  He was a 34 year employee of IBM in Endicott.  Tom had a passion for History and enjoyed reading books, old airplanes, and shared stories about life growing up in the 50’s.

He is survived by his four children; Catherine Schultz (Florida) Anita Schultz (Whitney Point) Patricia Wells (Whitney Point) and Thomas R. Schultz (DeRuyter).  Also, his long lifetime girlfriend, Bonnie Utter (Whitney Point) son, Todd Utter, daughter, Lynn McDonald (Steven),

8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM from St. Patrick’s Church, 59 Keibel Road, Whitney Point, New York.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 4-7 PM at Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119^th St. Whitney Point, New York.
