Roy D. Baker Sr., 71, of Lisle passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents, Franklin Baker and Carolyn Karpensky; brothers, Andy, Larry and Frank and his beloved dog, Happy. He is survived by his wife, Marcy; children, Donna (Roger) Marshall, Rhonda Hazen (Bob Larry), Roy (Marcia) Baker Jr., Chris (Denise) Frutchey, Stephen (Shirley) Rozelle, Sonia Burkhardt, Matthew (Sarah) Rozelle and Meghan Rozelle (Anthony Carlo); grandchildren, Alison Babbitt (Ryan Delaney), Gary (Rebecca) Babbitt, Michael Georgia, Samantha Baker, Damon Baker, Courtney Hazen, Evan Marshall, Reed Marshall, Autumn Rozelle, Amber Rozelle, Angela Rozelle, Elaina Burkhardt, Devon Burkhardt, Damion Carter, Tobias Carter, Kelly Carlo, KennaDee Carlo, Montgomery Carlo and Carolina Carlo; great grandchildren, Benjamin Babbitt, Macy Delaney, Jace Hyde, Kaiden Rozelle and Liz Hyde; siblings, Janet, Betty, Ronnie, Cherie, Pam, Brownie, Anna, Frank, Dick, Shirley and their families. Roy retired after 30 years of service from Cornell University. In his retirement he spent his time remodeling his barn, complete with a stage and dance floor, to host weddings and his annual family reunions which he looked forward to each summer. He loved playing the guitar and was well known for having a good-natured sense of humor. Roy enjoyed meeting new people and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone.
