Rose E. Smith

Rose E. Smith, 93, of Whitney Point passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 6, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; sister, Betty Lias; and brothers, Robert and Fredrick Edwards. Rose is survived by her daughters, Sharon Mott and Theresa Spellman; son, Gary Smith; brother, Donald Edwards; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose worked at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal during her younger years. She then worked and retired from the Whitney Point Post Office after 27 years of service. She was a wonderful cook, her specialty was the Kolachki cookies she made around the holidays. She loved her dog, Lindy. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend and she will be dearly missed by all. Rose's body will be donated to science and no public services will be held. A burial will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one's local Humane Society in Rose's name.
