Robert D. Bruce

Robert D. Bruce, 79, of Glen Aubrey went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2013.  He was predeceased by his wife, Lois E. Bruce, parents, William (Chloe Reynolds) Bruce, brother, Richard Bruce, stepbrother, Lawrence Bruce, sister, Lucille Barden  He is survived by his children: William (Sally) Bruce, Barry (Jackie Rumsey) Bruce,  Bonnie Washington,  five grandchildren; Matthew Gee, Robbie Bruce, Ryan Bruce, Chase Washington, Marisa Washington, several nieces, nephews, cousins, one special nephew; Douglas Bruce, three special cousins, Betty MerWarth, Donna Wilcox and Stewart Reynolds.

Robert was a member of the Glen Aubrey Fire Department for over 55 years, enjoyed camping at Raquette Lake for over 50 years, where he enjoyed the company of many great friends.  He was  an avid gardener, traveler and bowler.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at 3 PM from Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th Street, Whitney Point, NY.  Burial will be in Glen Aubrey Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends at Nichols Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 from
5-8 PM and Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 from 1 PM until service time at 3 PM.
