Paul F. Gerard

Paul F. Gerard, 49, of Whitney Point, NY passed away on Saturday January 4, 2014 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his father Paul F. Gerard, Sr. of Boynton Beach, FL. He is survived by his son Mitchell Oliver Gerard, 18, a senior at Whitney Point High School; mother, Barbara Decker of Whitney Point; sister, Anne Gerard Staton of McKinney, TX; brother, Stephen D. Gerard of New City, NY, plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Paul grew up in Eastchester, NY and graduated high from The Anderson School in Staatsburg, NY.  He earned an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Mechanics from SUNY Delhi.  Paul was a professional mechanic and truck driver and was employed by Don Hummer Trucking, Iowa. The family will receive friends at the Nichols Funeral Home 7323 119th St. Whitney Point, NY on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 1p.m. until service time at 2p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the Broome County Humane Society (www.bchumanesoc.com ) or to Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org).
