Letha May Lamb

Letha May (Wickham) Lamb, 93, of Nanticoke, NY went home to be with her Lord on Monday March 17, 2014.  Letha was born to Everett and Ida Wickham on May 17, 1920 in Delhi, NY on her parent’s dairy farm, where they also ran a gas station and a dance hall. The dance hall is where Letha met and fell in love with her husband Horace Lamb. The young couple moved to Horace’s home town of Nanticoke, NY. Letha was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a brother Arley and a grandson Scott Lamb. She is survived by 2 sons; Edward and Nancy , Maine, NY, James and Suzanne, Nanticoke, NY and her very special friend Sharon Burkee; grandchildren, Rochelle, Ed Jr., Lance and Jeff; 10 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and her many friends at the Nanticoke Baptist Church and Golden Age Club. Letha loved the Lord and her family and friends very much. Before the passing of her husband, Letha and Horace loved to take family vacations. Letha loved spending time with her friends playing the card game “Skip Bo”. On most Sunday afternoons Letha could be found at the Red Lobster, first with her husband and later with her special friend Sharon. The family wishes to give special thanks to the nurses and aides of Willow Point Nursing Home, South Wing and to Katherine Erickson and Dr. Kennedy for their wonderful and special care of Letha. The family will receive friends at the Nichols Funeral Home 7323 119th St. Whitney Point on Friday March 21, 2014 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. with Reverend Gary Hinman officiating. . Burial will be in Nanticoke Cemetery at a later date. Donations in her memory can be made to the Nanticoke Baptist Church.
