Jean M. Holcomb

Jean (Glezen) Holcomb, 88, passed away with her family by her side on Friday October 10, 2014. She was born in Cortland, NY to Clifford Glezen and Lydia (Howe) Glezen. She was predeceased by her parents, son, Lonnie K. Abbott and brother, Cleon Glezen.  Jean retired from Smith Corona Marchant in Cortland after 35 years of service.  She was a member of Center Lisle Church and Past Noble Grand of Yorkshire Rebekah Lodge # 606. After retirement she and her husband spent winters in Melbourne, FL where they made many friends.  She is survived by her cherished family:  husband, Lynn Holcomb; son, Gregory (Robin) Abbott; daughters, Joyce Smith of Cortland, Judy (Roger) Dunham of Lisle,  granddaughters, Jamie (Abbott) Slater of Ithaca, Jenna Abbott of Ithaca, JaLynne Smith of Cortland and Cindy (Abbott) Watson;  grandsons, Dustin Smith of Rochester, Robert Dunham and Russell Dunham of Lisle, Keith Abbott of Lisle; brother, Clifford “Skip” (Ginny) Glezen of Lapeer and many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Jean had a great sense of humor that stayed with her to the end.  Her greatest joys were her family and friends. 

The family will receive friends at the Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th St., Whitney Point Tuesday October 14, 2014 from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. Reverend Bruce Glazier will officiate. Members of the Rebekah Lodge will honor Jean’s memory just prior to the service.  Burial will be in Center Lisle Cemetery.  Those wishing may make a memorial contribution to the American Heart Association.
