Howard “Jack” Sherman of Whitney Point
We honor our father, Howard “Jack” Sherman who went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday March 19th at the age of 87. We mourn and feel an immense loss without our father’s presence on this earth, but we rejoice he is with our LORD and once again with the love of his life, our Mom, Charlotte Sherman and our brother, Jeffrey Sherman who lived 10 short months before going to his heavenly home in 1962. Jack was born on March 14, 1934 in Binghamton, NY. He met our mother in 1952 at high school dance and as our Mom said many times, “it was love at first sight.” He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and then the US Army from 1952 – 1972. He is survived by his 3 children: son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Elena Sherman and their children Daniel and Eleanor Sherman; grandson Joshua Sherman, granddaughters Page and Sommer Sherman; daughter Marcy Fuller and her husband Matthew and their children Rachel and Leah Fuller; daughter Andrea Colburn and her husband Charlie and children Katie Towson and Jack Markham. He is predeceased by our mom, Charlotte Sherman (2012), his parents Howard and Olga Sherman, his sisters Barbara Hollenbeck and Sylvia Hassett, and his mother and father-in-law Clarence “Bucky” and Marion Rogers. A grave side service with military honors will be held in the Upper Lisle Cemetery on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11 am. Those who knew him and our mother are welcome to attend. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
