Harold “Happy” E. Wiser, 78, of Castle Creek, N.Y. passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on November 7, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou Wiser, parents, Grayson (Bertha) Wiser, three brothers, Warren, Leo and Richard.
He is survived by four daughters, Julie and Ricky Scott and Jane and David Lewis, both of Castle Creek, NY; Vicki and Timothy Ross of Whitney Point, NY; and Carrie and Kristopher Fox of Sullivan, WI; 13 grandchildren, Shanton, Casey, Danielle, A.J. , Matt, Hope, Nate, Vince, Kara, Natasha, George, Charles, and Neil; and four great grandchildren, Evan, Austin, Averi and Jace. He is survived by sister, Lois (Richard) Dilworth, Castle Creek, brother, Gerald (Thelma) Wiser, Iowa, also many brothers-and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He retired from Broome County as Highway Superintendant and served in the U.S. Army In Korea as Military Policeman, serving as driver for South Korea’s President, Sigmun Rhee. He was a long standing member of Castle Creek Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts.
The family would like to express a special Thank You to Lourdes Hospice, Casey Patterson and Aide, Corbin White who went above and beyond in caring for him in his final days.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 10 AM from Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th Street, Whitney Point, New York. The family will receive friends at Nichols Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
