George Swan, 71, formerly of Whitney Point, NY, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his home in Lockport, NY.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Judy (Beam) Swan, in 1997 and his daughter, Nathalie A. Ricketts, in 2013.
He is survived by his wife of almost 8 years, Roxanne Swan, and his children; a son, Michael (Connie) Swan, Nicholson, PA; a daughter, Shannon Gerst (Michael Gazovic), Whitney Point, NY; grandchildren Michael Swan, Sydney Swan, Nicholas, Jordan, Chad and Mandi Gerst; great-grandson, Nicholas Gerst, Jr.; brothers, Clayton, Strucca, PA and Leslie, Binghamton, NY; a sister, Julie Gardner, Tucson, AZ; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
George served in the Army during the Vietnam War.  He owned and operated Swan Construction as a skilled general contractor for many years.  He loved to go fishing, to cook and to play video games.  George will be remembered most for his infectious smile and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Calling hours will be on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Nichols Funeral Home in Whitney Point.  A private burial will be held.  George’s final resting place will be beside his beloved wife, Judy, in Upper Lisle Cemetery, Whitney Point, NY
