George Kermidas, age, 66, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2013 to begin another journey with his son, Michael who predeceased him. He is also predeceased by his parents Stanley and Betty Kermidas. He is survived by his beloved wife and soul-mate Roxanne, daughters: Gina (Rick) Allabaugh & Becky Bridges and precious grandchildren, Katelyn, Derek, Carson, Hunter and Ben, his sister, Carol (Roy) Martinussen and brother, Bob (Sue) Kermidas, also many wonderful people including his parents in law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends. He served in the 101st Airborne and retired from SUNY Binghamton. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending summers with family and friends at Brennan Beach and enjoyed winters in Florida. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, husband and true friend. He was “the Greatest” Grandpa in the world and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. A special thank you to William Childs Hospice House Palm Bay, Florida for their loving care and support they provided George and his family. The family will receive friends at the Nichols Funeral Home 7323 119th St. Whitney Point, NY, Thursday June 13, 2013 from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in his name can be made to the S.A.S. Foundation for Cancer Research, P.O. Box 602, Bible School Park, NY 13737.
