Frank Bianco Obituary

Frank A. Bianco, 96, of Whitney Point went to Heaven on his late son Butch’s birthday September 19, 2023 at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lucia Bianco; children, Franceen Bianco-Diaz, Frank “Butch” Bianco and Kyle Bianco; grandsons, Greg Perrone and Anthony Joseph Meta, and 12 siblings. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Bianco; children, Lucy and Terry Duffy, Roxanne and Pat Eggleston, Janet and Patrick Gehm, Cindy and Bill Handerhan; grandchildren, Bill Podrazil, Katie Hiffner, Tina and Neil Alcala, Frank Alan and Danielle Bianco, Ami Bianco, Crystal and Joe Stanley, Josh and Kortney Bianco, Kyle Bianco, Kimberly Knapp, Sarah Werner, Jeffrey Sinclair, Ashley Meta, Mike and Amanda Meta, Michael and Tina Edsall, Michelle Edsall; 24 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews . Frank served his country in both the US Army and US Marine Corp. He participated in the invasion of Okinawa, Japan. Frank worked at several jobs before starting Whitney Point Wholesale Meats. He was an avid hiker and big game hunter. He set world records hiking both the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine and the Finger Lake trails. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball and Pee-Wee Football. Although legally blind he loved golfing, bowling and jogging. He jogged at the Senior Olympics in Florida where he took second place. He was a forty year member of Rotary Clubs in Whitney Point, Johnson City and Bellview, Florida. He was a former member of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Whitney Point and Most Holy Rosary in Maine, NY. He loved deeply and was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. A funeral mass will be held 9:00am Saturday, September 23 at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 59 Keibel Rd, Whitney Point, NY 13862 with burial at Calvary Cemetery immediately after. Friends of the family may call from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, September 22 at Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119 St, Whitney Point, NY 13862. The family would like to thank the Staff at the NYS Veteran’s Home for their care of Frank and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NYS Veteran’s Home, 4207 NY-220, Oxford, NY 13830.
