Eleanor A. Ticknor, 72, of Center Lisle passed away on November 12, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Lillian Phillips. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gordon Ticknor; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Ticknor and Debbie Coole; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Mathew Rynich; grandchildren, Brendan Rynich, Hayley Rynich and Lindsay McPeek; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Carl Bartlett; niece Laura (Nick) Dutile and nephew, Thomas (Krystle) Bartlett. Eleanor graduated from WPCS in 1970 and SUNY Oneonta in 1974. Her passion was town history and genealogy; she would spend countless hours researching records and was the town historian for Lisle for many many years. She also taught Sunday School and played the piano at church. She loved flowers, her favorites were Black Eyed Susans and Peonies. She enjoyed traveling with Gordon during his time in the military, visiting local museums, attractions, and historical landmarks. Every afternoon you could find her watching game shows or Highway Patrol on tv. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, june 28, 2025 at Center Lisle Cemetery. Memorial donations in Eleanor's name may be made to the Center Lisle Congregational Church, 9670 NY-79, Lisle, NY 13797.
