Doris Ames

Doris H. Ames, 80, of Lisle joined her husband and children on Thursday, January 1, 2015.  She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Ames, son, Terry Ames, daughter, Karen (Dunham) Hand, grandson, Jason Dunham, siblings, Ellie, Annie, and Carl.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Ames, son, Robert Ames, Sr., daughter-in-law, Brenda Ames, grandchildren; Jill Dunham, Kevin (Liya) Dunham, Lindsey Ames, Keith (Amanda) Dunham, Tyler Ames, Cody Ames, Robert (Angel) Ames, Jr., Kyle Ames, Sara Ames, Marissa Ames, seven great grandchildren, brother, Herman Ahsmann, sister- in- law, Jane Miner, many special nieces, nephews, and special friends the Golden Girls.

Doris worked for Dr. Glenn Tymeson, retired from Cornell Cooperative Extension- New York Farm Bureau, was a lifetime member of Lisle Fire Company including the Med Team and Lisle Auxiliary, member of Center Lisle Congregational Church and its Guild, an avid bowler and Yankees fan.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11 AM from Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119^th Street, Whitney Point, New York with Reverend  Bruce Glazier officiating.  Burial will be in Center Lisle Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends at Nichols Funeral Home on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 5-7 PM and Monday, January 5, 2015 from 10 -11AM.
