Bruce James Gaylord, 72, of Chenango Forks, died on October 23, 2018 at Mercy House after a long battle with lung cancer. He was the son of James and Dorcie (Huntington) Gaylord. Bruce is survived by his son, Scott M. Gaylord; daughter, Tammy (Michael) Close; grandchildren, Sarah, Alex, Sophie, Sam, Courtney (Justin), Madison and Logan; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Avery; sisters and brother-in-law, Christine Gillette, Dolores and Harry Gage; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bruce spent his work life as a carpenter. Early on, he worked installing ceilings and through the years became an expert at finished carpentry. For almost thirty years he worked for Dan Armstrong at Woodworking Concepts. Dan became a loyal friend. Bruce made beautiful and intricate pieces for customers’ homes, always enjoying the challenge. A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th Street, Whitney Point New York 13862. Friends of the family may call from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Glen Castle Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.nicholsfuneral.com.
