It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Marie Albert May 17, 2025 at the age of 84. Anna was born on February 11, 1941 in Johnson City, NY to Fred Japhet and Viola (Door) Japhet. In 1957, she was introduced to Robert H. Albert in Cortland, NY and were engaged and married on March 15, 1958. They built a small home in Maine, NY, and later expanded the home to accommodate a larger family. From 1959 to 1968, Robert and Anna raised 4 sons, Dennis, Steven, Martin and Edward. While raising their sons, Anna volunteered at Lourdes Hospital, Cub Scouts Den 7 Mother, later attaining Scouting’s highest award, the Silver Fawn. She also volunteered for the Kiwanis Club, Sunday school teacher at the Maine Federated church. In May of 1990, she was awarded her AAS degree from Broome Community College in Mental Health and Social field work. She worked part-time with a medical office, but was placed on disability due to Arthritis. In 1997, Robert and Anna moved to Sun City, AZ. Anna enjoyed ceramics at the Marianette Recreation center, and many other activities. From 1997-2017, Anna was a member of the Sun City Posse, and during her time there, managed a program for residents suffering from Dementia. After 20 years with the Posse, she attained the rank of Lieutenant and retired from the Posse. Anna was a member of the Lakeside United Methodist church in Sun City. She is survived by one brother, David Japhet, two sisters, Linda (Japhet) Hurdum, and Debbie (Japhet) Aton. She is predeceased by her husband Robert and son Edward. She was loved as a wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. and will be very missed by all. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, May 30 at Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th St, Whitney Point, NY 13862. Friends of the family may call from 12:00pm until the time of service at Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Center Lisle Cemetery.
