Aleene Walsh

Aleene L. Walsh of Castle Creek passed away Sunday April 28 at the Cortland Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was 92.  Aleene was predeceased by her husband Edward in 1991.  Originally from Scranton they moved to Chenango Forks and then Castle Creek and raised four children.  She is survived by her children Judith (Allen) Glezen of Lisle, NY, David Walsh of Phoenix, AR, Janice (Jay) McIntyre of Whitney Point, NY and Patricia (Alan) James of Castle Creek, NY.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Daniel Abbey,, Robert Abbey, Shannon (McIntyre) Poff, Jeffrey Abbey, Scott McIntyre, Karen (Abbey) Rafferty, Elizabeth (James) Davis and Matthew James as well as eleven great grandchildren.  In her later years she truly enjoyed her great grandkids-they were all so smart!  Even if they did all look the same.  Aleene was a member of the Castle Creek United Methodist Church as well as a long time member of the United Methodist women.  She worked for many years at Fowlers in Binghamton and later for the Bon-Ton.

Calling hours will be held at Nichols Funeral Home in Whitney Point on Saturday May 4^th from 10 am until the time of her service at 11:30. Bruce Glazier will officiate. Burial will be in the Glen Castle Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Castle Creek United Methodist Church P.O. Box 63 Castle Creek, NY 13744.
