William "Bill" L. Kemp

William “Bill” L. Kemp, 77, of Lisle, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. He was predeceased by parents, William C. and Sophie Kemp and by son-in-law, Philip Sabino. Bill is survived by four children, Amy Kemp of Fayetteville, NY, son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Cindi Kemp, of Cary, NC, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Michael Barrows of Lisle, NY, daughter, Christine Sabino of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Jacob (Alexandra) and Leah Rau, Kelsey and Valerie Barrows, Steven (Larissa) Barrows and Adele Sabino; great-grandchildren, Teyhgan and Owen Rau, Christine, Audrey and Andrew Barrows; brother, Robert Kemp, Florida; ex-wife, Margaret Kemp and beloved dog, Maggie. Bill served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Independence Aircraft Carrier. He was a member of George F. Riordan American Legion Post # 974 and Whitney Point Sportsmen's Association.  His life's work was owning and operating an insurance agency, WLK Agency, in various locations. Bill enjoyed good jokes, fishing, hunting, gardening, baking, clock repair and spending time with his children and grandchildren.   American Legion Post # 974 will conduct a service at 4 p.m. Saturday at Nichols Funeral Home immediately followed by a memorial service.  Friends of the family may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lisle Fire Department 9990 Main Street, Lisle, NY 13797.
