Freida Mae Cotcamp, age 87, a long time resident of Whitney Point, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2018 after an extended illness. She is predeceased by her father, Herbert and step mother, Aleata Fritsch; siblings Herbert Jr. and Sandra Kirk. She is survived by her sister, Ruby Burge of Johnson City. She is also survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, William Cotcamp; children, Gary (Mona) Cotcamp, Diane (Kim) Miller, Laura Cotcamp, Brian Cotcamp, Nancy (Keith) Gustafson; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Prindle, Sarah Roe, Nicole Depew, Brad Miller, Kristy Silcott, Mary Beth Kupchik, Dustin and Ryan Cotcamp, Kaitlyn, Mark and Kelsey Gustafson and 13 great-grandchildren. Her careers included telephone operator, Avon representative and 16 years as a teachers' aide at the Carl E. Adams Elementary School. She viewed her most important job to be a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved traveling, singing, hand crafts, cooking, baking, gardening, bowling, and any outdoor activity. Freida was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church in Whitney Point where she sang in the choir for many years. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Lourdes Hospice, home health care aides Denise Ross and Anita Schultz for their compassionate care. A celebration of Freida's life will be held at the Whitney Point United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 24th at noon. Immediately following the service a luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall.
