Dennis E. O'Connor

Dennis Edward O'Connor of Whitney Point, the strongest man I've ever known, gave up his courageous fight on October 29, 2017. Born on Dec.26, 1950 in Buffalo. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Michael and Charlotte (Carlinski) O'Connor; siblings, Robert, John, Kathy, Dorothy, Raymond, Annette and Marge; sister-in-law, Laurie Ann O'Connor. The only things he loved more than telling a good story, beer, horseshoes, and a good cigar was his family! He leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Penny O'Connor and his children Becky (Mark )Wolcott, Jason (Kelly )O'Connor, Jennifer (Brian )Connors, Christopher Cooper, Robin (Adam )Compeau, Cody O'Connor and William Mariano. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Amanda, Alexis, Caitlin , Zachary, Hunter, Hannah, Allyson, Brody, Serenity, Reilly, Jason, Maggie, Joey, and Parker; siblings, Maureen Kostick, Michael (Patricia), Patrick and Timothy O'Connor; mother-in-law, June Nickerson; brother-in-law, Chris Nickerson (Adara), many nieces and nephews, and very special friends, Pat Dougherty , Jess Baker, Steven (Judi) Brown, and Godson Marcus. He was blessed to have a huge group of friends who's love and support kept him fighting until the end! As a lifelong Bills, Sabers, and Yankee fan, his final wish was to have the Buffalo Bills be his pall bearers so they could let him down one last time! "That's what I'm talking about!” Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday at Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th Street, Whitney Point, NY 13862.
