Kathie, Matt and all of the family:
It is with extreme sadness that I send condolences from Kathie and me.  Our friendship dated back to our junior high school days--a time that never was nor will ever be forgotten.
My apologies for not being able to attend the memorial, but I will certainly extend my personal condolences upon my return home

I was sadden to read about Mel's passing.  I had occasion to work with him several times between 1998 and 2004 as he conducted the Broome County Auction.  He approached every job as if were the most special one he had ever promoted and if there was a problem with any of the merchandise, especially our clunker County Cars he took it to heart and did what he could to make things right.  Integrity - honesty - hardworking all describe Mel.  His legacy of service and charity far beyond his 'little auction business' will live many generations into the future.  Mel was the champ - may he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to see the notice of Mr.Mel Manasse's death.
I,as a Buyer in Broome County Purchasing Dept. had the honor of knowing Mel. He presided over our annual County Auctions at Grippen Park.
A true professional if I ever saw one. He impressed me not only with his abilities, but how he treated his fellow men,be they workers or County employees.
It was my distinct honor to have been able to say I was so very lucky to have met him and worked with him. HE will be truly missed!  Steve F.

Matt & Family,
I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Mel. We spent a lot of time at the conventions sitting and talking about the auction business. He was more than willing to teach and I learned much from him.
The world has lost a good man; our loss is most assuredly God's gain.

To the Manasse family with the greatest condolences and respect for a great man who left us too soon. My most recent memory will be forever embedded in my brain of seeing Mel driving past me this January in Florida sitting in a vintage auto with a hat on. He went by too fast to hear me call his name but I was none the less happy to see him. Mel appreciated the important things in life like vintage cars but more than that his family, which along with so many other attributes made him such a great man. May he rest in peace and his family have peace with the knowledge that that he touched the hearts of many. He will be missed.
