Violet Fern Clark Briggs, 94, went to be with her Lord on April 7, 2017 at her home.  She was born in Conklin, NY, on July 8, 1922 to Freeman Clark and Maud Miller Deats Clark.  She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Fotusky; son, Thomas Fotusky; brothers, DeForest Clark, Ralph Deats, Glenn Deats; sisters, Hazel Frazier Lennon, Alice Myers Rumsey.  She is survived by her loving husband, Norris W. Briggs; her loving son and daughter- in- law, Timothy and Laura Fotusky; five dear grandchildren, Chad (Kristina) Fotusky, Joshua (Cassie) Fotusky, Benjamin (Catherine) Fotusky, Molly (Giles) Sieburg, and Suzanna Fotusky; sister, Thelma Clark Cave; five great grandchildren, Tasha, Benjamin, Violet, Charlize, Emmi; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Violet loved beauty, which she cultivated inside and out, by loving God and others. She’s known for her twinkling eyes, loving smile, sweet temperament, and thoughtful creative gifts.  She loved decorating cakes, gardening, crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting and singing in the choir at Central Baptist Church where she was baptized in 1961 and an active member. The family is grateful for the faithful care and friendship provided by Lourdes Hospice who journeyed with her in her final months. A Memorial Service celebrating Violet’s life will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, 1606 Upper Front St. Binghamton, NY. “Just think of stepping on shore and finding it Heaven, of touching a hand and finding it Gods…”
