Lawrence J. Chase

Lawrence (Larry) James Chase, 74, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 peacefully in his sleep at the family farm in Harford, NY. Born in Smyrna, NY on May 19, 1941, Lawrence was the son of the late Myra Best Chase and Clifford Chase.  Besides his parents, Lawrence was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Norma Marcellus Chase, his brothers Donald and Allan (Chick) and a sister Wilma Huss. Lawrence is survived by his children Daniel (Lorrie) Chase of Harford and  Mary (Larry) Warner of Willet, sisters Gloria (Noel) Wiley, and Pamela (James) Russell  both of Marathon as well as his grandchildren, Cailey and Kelsey Chase and Carrie and Cody Warner.  He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Lawrence was a life long farmer happily raising his family on the  farm in Harford for over  50 years. He was  a very loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Lawrence was also a friendly neighbor to all that knew him, eagerly waving to every passerby.  Lawrence enjoyed spending time with family and friends, taking care of his animals and tending to his beautiful farmstead. There are no calling hours and there will be a private graveside memorial at a date yet to be determined, however, the family would like to invite all family, friends and neighbors to a celebration of life on Saturday, August  29 at the family farm at 1305 State Rt 221, Marathon, NY.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Lawrence may be made to the Harford Fire Department at 394 Route 38 PO Box 120,Harford  NY  13784. Arrangements are bu Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th Street, Whitney Point, NY 13862 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.nicholsfuneral.com
