Dorothy L. O'Neil

Dorothy L. O’Neil, 93, returned to the Heavenly Father on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2015. She was predeceased by her husbands, John Sluznis of Binghamton, Tom O’Neil of Whitney Point; and grandson, James Garrett of Waldorf, MD. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Schiffman, Whitney Point, Nancy Garrett, Waldorf, MD; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Trish Sluznis, Whitney Point; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Dorothy was a mechanical draftsman and she was a self-sufficient master of all skilled trades. She loved her cats, dogs and gardening. She was a loving mother and grandmother. A memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Greene. President Kermit Kirby will preside. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to S.P.E.A.K. Animal Hospital and Cat Sanctuary, 351 Flint Road, Binghamton, NY 13905.
