Amos H. Sturdevant

Amos H. Sturdevant, age 88, of Whitney Point, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the loving hands of the NYS Veterans’ Home, Oxford. He was predeceased by two sons, Larry W. and David L. Sturdevant. Amos is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty; children, Richard and Nancy Sturdevant, Marvin and Debbie Sturdevant, Amos and Debora Sturdevant, Judy and Thomas Cummings; two daughters-in-law, Linda and Roxanne; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. Amos was a lifelong member of Countryside Christian Chapel. He was a local general contractor. He served his country during WWII in the US Navy. Amos was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Funeral Services will be held 12pm Monday at Nichols Funeral Home. Pastor Bruce Glazier will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Vestal Park Cemetery.
