Welcome to the memorial page for

Alice Ellerson

September 12, 2016

Alice Carver Ellerson, 88, of Whitney Point, passed away peacefully, after a long, beautiful life, Monday, September 12, 2016. Alice was born July 10, 1928, one of eight children, in Binghamton, NY to the late James and Anna VanScoy Carver.  Alice married her “love of her life” George Ellerson in January 1950.  Alice and George and their four children moved to Raleigh, NC in the summer of 1966. The family attended St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Alice loved volunteering and participating at St. Mark’s; she loved her church. She also enjoyed working in her yard picking up sticks, swimming, and exercising in the family’s pool. She loved listening to gospel and country music and dancing with George. More than anything, Alice enjoyed helping others. Alice was a Beloved - Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband George, and her six sisters and brothers: Eva, Helen, Mildred, William, Joyce, Gladys, Jean, and daughter-in-law Eloise. She is survived by her loving children, Scott, Anna, Eddie, and Greg; grandchildren, Darcy, Jordan, and Jake; and two great-grandchildren, Jax and Leighton.  Alice has fought the good fight of faith and has finished the race, and kept the faith. Now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness. A graveside service will be held 11am Friday in Riverside Cemetery in Whitney Point. Rev. Corey Turnpenny will officiate. Arrangements are under direction of Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th Street, Whitney Point, New York 13862 and condolences may be sent to the family  at www.nicholsfuneral.com.
